Nido Laos is the community association for Nigerians living and working in the Lao PDR. For years, members have helped one another with everyday matters and with passport and travel documents. Nido Laos operates with the recognition and support of the Nigerian Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, the mission responsible for Nigerian citizens across Laos and Myanmar. The association does not issue passports or give legal advice. It helps members prepare complete requests and follows them up with the Embassy.
Renewals for Nigerians in Laos are handled by the Nigerian Embassy in Bangkok. You can do it yourself, or do it with Nido Laos guidance.
If you would rather have help with the application, Thai visa arrangements, travel and accommodation planning, start a Passport Renewal request, without the need to leave Laos. The Embassy has provided the committee with digital biometric capture, so your biometrics can be taken here. Our committee checks your documents, confirms current requirements and fees, and guides you through each step.

Fees, processing times, visa rules and appointment procedures can change. Always check the official Nigerian Immigration Service and Embassy information before you travel.
An Emergency Travel Certificate lets you travel back to Nigeria if your passport is lost, stolen or expired and you cannot wait for a new one.
Start your request and the committee will guide you through the rest, including the current fee and how everything is submitted to the Embassy.
Nido Laos cannot promise anyone a job. What we can do is keep your CV and experience on file, and when a member of our community or one of our contacts is looking for foreign workers, we recommend people from within Nido first.
The best way to be considered is to stay active in our activities and keep in touch with the committee, so we know who you are and what you do.
Any Nigerian living in Laos can apply. Every account is reviewed by the committee before it is approved, so we can be sure our members are who they say they are. Approval is not instant.
Yes. Sensitive documents such as your passport and your live photo are only visible to authorised committee officers, and every time someone opens your file, it is recorded.
This platform exists so members no longer have to send those documents over WhatsApp.
Yes, and we encourage you to. Start a confidential Overstay Matters request, or message us from your dashboard if you already have an account, and a member of our leadership will speak with you directly about your situation.
We are here to support our members, not to judge them.

No. Creating an account and being part of the community is free. Some services, such as a passport renewal or an Emergency Travel Certificate, carry fees set by the Embassy itself, not by Nido Laos.
